Three university students have edged out fierce competition, including a professional filmmaker, to win the first-ever YouTube video contest on hunger, which has attracted more than half a million views from people all over the world. Ten weeks after Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières’ (MSF) authorization to treat malnutrition in the Maradi region was suspended, the French section of MSF is no longer providing any medical-nutritional treatment on site there. A new memorandum of understanding was drafted between the Ministry of Public Health and MSF, but the authorities of Niger have yet to sign it.
